Pandorajam FAQ‎ > ‎

    Getting Started

    Q. What's the latest version?

    A. v2.0 requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later, and is a free upgrade for all v1.0 users. Due to changes by Pandora.com, v1.0 no longer functions and is now obsolete.

    Q. How do I upgrade to the latest version?

    A. Select menu item 'Check for updates...' to see if there are any updates available. If there are any problems, you can always check the website and download the latest version from there.

    Q. How do I install PandoraJam?

    A. PandoraJam is a standard Mac OS X application.  Download the file, unzip and you’re good to go.  Many browsers will automatically unzip the file for you.

    Q. I can't find PandoraJam. The dock icon has turned into a question mark. Where's the application?

You  may have deleted or moved the PandoraJam application to a different location on your Mac. Using Spotlight, do a search for PandoraJam.  If you can't find it, download the application again.

    Q. What's the difference between PandoraJam and Pandora.com?

    A. PandoraJam is an independent, third-party application, for Mac OS X which enhances the internet radio website Pandora.com.  However, PandoraJam is not affiliated with the Pandora.com radio service.

    Q. Can my PandoraJam registration details be used to listen to Pandora.com?

    A. No. PandoraJam is not affiliated with the Pandora.com radio service. You purchase PandoraJam to receive a software registration code which unlocks all application features and remove any restrictions. Separately, you register at Pandora.com for access to their music service.

    Q. Does PandoraJam support Pandora.com's HTML5 website?

Yes Pandora.com removed their Flash based player around Sep 21st, 2011, and replaced it with a HTML5 website.  As a result:
    • PandoraJam 1.x no longer functions as it only supported the old Flash player
    • PandoraJam 2 is available which supports the new HTML5 player. It is a free upgrade and requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

    Q. Why do I still need Flash on my computer? Google Chrome says I have Flash installed.

Yes, as Pandora.com's HTML5 website still uses some Flash. Google Chrome browser has it's own version of Flash installed. Other browers like Safari and Firefox, and applications like PandoraJam, do not have access to Chrome's version of Flash, so you still need to install Adobe Flash.
